My Feet and Hands

The other day, Mom and I were sitting on our couch, foot to foot. Mom put her feet up to mine and we discovered that my feet are almost as big as hers. My Mom wears a size seven shoe and I wear a size two shoe. So how is this even possible? I don't know, but it's true! Then, we were at a family Mother's Day BBQ and I put my hands up to Sarah's, and hers were smaller than mine. She is in her twenties and I am eight! How is this even possible? I don't know, but it's true too! Trust me when I say that I am not abnormal in any way. I really think it is Mom and Sarah with the issues! For some fun when you are bored, try putting your hands and feet up to someone else's and see how crazy different the sizes can be!

Please Donate To Loma Linda

Hi, you may or may not have heard about Loma Linda. It is a village in El Salvador with about 276 people. It is a poor village. They do not have medicine, electricity or stable houses. Their beds are made of rocks and clay. Their ovens are made out of clay, which makes for slow cooking. Their escuela, or school, is very far from where they live. They have to pay to go to school, and most people don't have the money. Those who do have to walk for miles and cross a river, which is very hard to do in the rainy season. It is also very dangerous because the current runs very fast. Sometimes children get swept away in the current. Their classrooms have over thirty kids in them. The villagers speak Spanish. They play in the river for fun. They have a rock waterslide. They also play soccer for fun. They have a soccer ball, but it isn't very good. Our school class made candles and crafts and sold them to raise money for them. Now, they have a new ball and jerseys and they got to verse another village. This made them very happy. There are still lots of things they need. They really need a hospital and clothes and better houses. They need a bridge built to cross the river so they can safely get to school. So please make a donation. Any amount helps. You can really make a difference or even save a life. To learn more about this cause, please contact St. Alphonsus School in Winnipeg, MB in the Grade 3 class, or me, Kate! God Bless.

The Main Menu Is Yam Fries

Do you know why yam fries are so great? Me and my Mom just came back from Boston Pizza here in Winnipeg, and we shared a huge plate of yam fries with a chipotle dip. Excellent beyond words. Me and my Mom were thinking that it would be a cool thing for us to go to BP every Friday night for yam fries. We are calling it T.G.I.F.Y.F. Thank goodness it's Friday - yam fries! My Mom had pic a pop in colored cups and pizza night while watching The Dukes Of Hazard when she was little. Now we have yam fries and coke while watching Chuck instead. I would like to dedicate this blog to the founder of the yam fries, my Aunty Tara. Without her, we never would have discovered this delicious appetizer. It is one of the world's best kept secrets. Yeah for Aunty and yeah for us! Try some yam fries today. You won't regret it.

Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam

The Wii game, Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam is the best game ever! If you have a Wii and you have never played this game, you are missing out big time! You get to skateboard in all these cool places, do awesome tricks and go super fast. You can also change your girl or guy and even what they wear. The best part is you can pick tatoos for them too! I wake up early on purpose on school days so I can play before I go to school. It really starts my day off right. I give it five out of five stars - a perfect score for a perfect game.

The Real Reason Of Easter

Lent - me and my Mom decided to give up things we really love this Lent. My Mom gave up eating chocolate and I gave up drinking every kind of pop. Some people don't know why other people give things up during the forty days before Easter. We do this because this is the amount of time Jesus spent in the desert before he sacrificed himself for all of us. So when we give up something for Lent, it is to remind us of the sacrifice of Jesus. Easter is not about chocolate and bunnies and gifts. It is about love and life and sacrifice. Happy Easter everyone!

My Loose Tooth

My tooth has been loose for one solid week! I just can't get it out!!!! It hurts when I wiggle it alot. Aaaaahhhhh!!!!!Wa wa wa wa wa waaaaaaaa!!!!! I know I sound like a baby, but you adults have no memory of the pain. All I know is that the only good thing about losing a tooth is you get money from the tooth fairy, which is actually your Mom. Moms have lots of jobs and that is one of them. I predict that my tooth will be out by tomorrow, and I really hope it is! For anyone that wants to make a donation to my tooth fairy fund, please contact my Mom. Talk to you soon!

Paul Blart: Mall Cop

Well, this is a funny story. I actually went with my Grammy to see Race To Witch Mountain this weekend, but a twist of fate led us to Paul Blart: Mall Cop instead. We paid for our first choice, got our popcorn and were sitting in the theatre waiting for the movie to start. The lights went down and curtains started to go apart, but got stuck at the halfway point. The movie began with the curtains covering half the screen! After five minutes of trying to get the curtains out of the way, a voice came on and said there was a "mechanical" problem and we couldn't see the film today! Now for the good news! We got to go to another movie without paying again AND we got free passes to see another movie at another time. So, off we went to a different theatre to see Paul Blart: Mall Cop. We only had a five minute wait - nice. My Grammy wasn't really into it, but this is my review: I give it five stars, two thumbs up, the year's must-see movie for all ages! It was hilarious! If you like Kevin James, you will love, love, love this movie! It was hysterical!
